Careers
We hire people, not vacancies.
Jiggs is small and independent, and the team does not turn over much — which means the honest answer is usually that there is nothing advertised. Get in touch anyway.
What it is like here
Six stylists in one bright room on a corner, open Tuesday to Sunday. The same owner for 21 years, and clients who have been coming for most of that. It is not a chain and there are no targets to hit on retail.
Colour is weighed on digital scales and every formula is recorded, so nobody is guessing at a repeat and nobody carries the whole colour book in their head. If you have worked somewhere that mixes by eye and hopes, it is a different way of working and a better one.
Who we tend to take on
- Assistant designers — early in your career, keen to be taught properly rather than left on the backwash for two years.
- Designers and senior designers — with a column you want to build somewhere that will let you keep it.
- Colour specialists — balayage and correction work is a growing part of what we do.
Getting in touch
There is no application form and no portal. Ring the salon and ask for Jeanette, or email — a couple of paragraphs about yourself and where you have worked is plenty to start with. If there is nothing going we will say so, and we will keep you in mind.
